Welcome to the Fall Semester at the Woods!

There is something special about standing lakeside at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. The water may be calm one day and a little choppy the next—but there is always another shore ahead.

Your career journey can feel a lot like that.

You don't have to know exactly where you're going today. You don't need to have your major, career, internship, or entire future figured out. You simply need to be willing to begin.

The Career Center is here to walk alongside you as you explore your interests, discover your strengths, build your confidence, and prepare for whatever comes next. Whether you're looking for your first internship, preparing a resume, practicing for an interview, exploring career possibilities, or wondering, “What in the world am I going to do with my life?”—come see us.

And to our alumni who continue to follow our Career Center page—welcome back! Your connection to the Woods doesn't end at graduation, and neither does your career journey. Careers grow, change, surprise us, and sometimes lead us in directions we never imagined. We hope you'll continue to stay connected, share your experiences, celebrate your successes, and remember that you will always be part of the Woods community.

And remember: sometimes the most important part of the journey isn't how quickly you reach the other side. It's what you discover about yourself along the way.

So take in the view. Ask questions. Try something new. Meet people who are different from you. Give yourself permission to change direction.

Whether you're just beginning your journey, somewhere in the middle, or looking toward a new shore, there is always room to grow.

Students were welcomed on the Avenue for the first day of classes. Chances to win! Free school supplies, hugs, first day pictures! Even directions given to those who were a little unsure of where to go for class! Thank you to the great Tent Team! 😎😀

And yes another winner from the Career Center Aiyana won the Sharkanador! She promised to give him a good home! Congratulations! Students signed up at the Welcome tent the first day of school!

There are days that remind you why you do this work. And today was one of them. The opportunity to meet so many of our incoming fall students, and I am always inspired by the hope, courage, and excitement they bring. The road is just beginning and we are here to walk it with you!
