As an ambassador, you’ll help champion the university by promoting Giving to Grow, alumni engagement opportunities, and other alumni-focused events. Join fellow Metro State alumni, students, faculty, and staff on Tuesday, September 22, from 2–4:30 p.m. for an afternoon of service at Open Arms St. Paul (380 E. Lafayette Frontage Rd., St. Paul, MN 55107). We will plan to meet directly at Open Arms.

Open Arms prepares and delivers nutritious, homemade meals to people living with serious illnesses who are unable to cook for themselves. During our volunteer shift, we’ll help support this meaningful mission while connecting with fellow members of the Metro State community and giving back together.

Give back, get your hands dirty, and connect with the Metro State community!

Join us on Friday, September 25, from 5–6:15 p.m. as we clean up and harvest the Metro State Community Garden at the Saint Paul Campus Student Center (690 E. 7th St., St. Paul, MN 55106).

We’re looking for volunteers to help with seasonal garden cleanup and harvesting while supporting this valuable campus resource. No gardening experience is necessary—we’ll provide all the tools and supplies you need!

Parking: Volunteers may park in the Metro State University parking ramp and will receive a complimentary parking voucher upon arrival.

Stick around after the project! We’ll celebrate our hard work with pizza and an opportunity to connect with fellow alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members.

We're short of volunteers and could use your help! We're looking for Metro State alumni and local professionals to volunteer at our Diversity Networking & Job Fair Orientation on Thursday, September 3, from 4:00–5:30 p.m.

By volunteering, you'll help students build confidence before meeting employers by:
Sharing your career journey and job search advice
Offering networking tips and first-impression strategies

Your liberal arts degree can open many doors, but figuring out where those doors lead isn’t always easy. Hear from alumni as they share their unique career journeys, the value of a liberal arts education, and what they wish they had known as students.
