For the third year, the University of Northwestern – St. Paul and Macalester College will bring together students with different world views to learn and practice listening with an open mind. The goal is to teach students how to better communicate with people they don’t necessarily see eye-to-eye with on topics and issues that frequently divide people in today’s political climate. Our sister organization, the Minnesota Private College Fund, has relaunched its Trailblazers Leadership Program with nine students selected as new scholars for the 2026-28 cohort. The new students are enrolled at Augsburg University; Concordia University, St. Paul; Hamline University; and St. Olaf College.

The program combines significant scholarships to students in their junior and senior years with a cohort-based mentoring program focused on leadership development, academic success and personal and career development opportunities.
