Anselm, described theology as “faith seeking understanding.” The theology department at UST lives and works in the spirit of St. Theology is the academic discipline that brings the tools of scholarship to the reflection on God, God’s relation to the world, and the human experiences of both. Our department is one of the largest in any Catholic university in the country. We have enthusiastic and pas

sionate teacher-scholars in every area of theology. Thomas take two theology courses as part of their core curriculum. The first course introduces the tradition of Christian theological reflection. The second-level courses invite students to "do" theology—that is, to engage in reasoning about an aspect of faith. Further study brings theological concepts and methods into dialogue with other disciplines.
