⚽💙 Celebrating the faculty who make a difference!

Tonight, KWU Women’s Soccer hosted its Faculty & Staff Appreciation Game, giving student-athletes the opportunity to recognize the faculty and staff members who have made a positive impact on their KWU experience.

We’re especially proud of our junior and senior nursing students, who chose to recognize three outstanding members of our nursing faculty: Professors Jeffrey Metzler, Sarah Kingan, and Jolene Dreher. 🩺💙

Thank you for the mentorship, encouragement, and dedication you provide to our nursing students each day. We’re grateful to have you as part of the KWU Nursing family!

Director Houchin spent time in the classroom this week helping our junior and senior nursing students learn and understand the difficult concepts of fluids & electrolytes along with acid base imbalances.

Our senior nursing students in their Acute Care and Family Centered Health clinicals this semester have been hard at work, practicing new skills, reviewing old skills, and preparing for their clinical experiences over the past 2 week. They have reviewed IV medication administration, insertion, and maintenance, surgical asepsis, wound care, maternal and infant assessment, and pediatric assessments.

We wish them all the best as they start their clinical experiences tomorrow!

💉 Our senior nursing students are BACK on campus and ready for action! Community Health Clinicals are officially underway — starting with a full bootcamp day refreshing injection and immunization administration skills, capped off with a real-world drive-thru influenza vaccine simulation. These future nurses are preparing to serve and protect our communities, one shot at a time. 💛🩺
