The SU Counseling Center joins in recognizing #WorldMentalHealthDay. The center offers therapeutic services, outreach programs, daily meditation services and support groups.

“Although the college experience is a memorable time in the life of our students, the last few months have presented unusual learning experiences for our students as they have dealt with a variety of challenges including COVID-19 and resulting stressors, racial injustice and virtual learning,” said Dr. Lilian Odera, SU Counseling Center Director. “I cannot underscore the importance of mental health awareness in our community as we experience the intersection of these stressors and their impact."

A variety of virtual support groups for students include: Brother’s Keeper (men of color), BeYOU (LGBTQIA+), Coping with COVID, Mind, Body and Sport (student-athletes), Crossing Borders (international students) and Sister Circle (women of color).
