As graduation season is in full swing and the semester comes to an end the Career Services team is elated by all our students have accomplished!
At our 🎉Gong Ringing Ceremony 🎉 we had the privilege of celebrating our students who received internships, graduate school acceptances, and jobs post graduation 🎓

Welcome back to SU!!!
In Career Services we have a number of events scheduled for this semester. And are available for one on one appointments in your career development. Contact our office via phone or email to make an appointment. Or stop by, we are in GSU, 2nd floor, Career Services Suite, right over Cool Beans.
There will be a table tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug 31st, from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM at the entrance to the Dining Commons. Stop by and say hello, make an appointment, or learn about out services. We are always excited to partner with our students.

Some of our amazing student workers are doing some amazing things🎉
Meet Zakera! Our student receptionist.
She will be receiving a BA in sociology and a double minor in communications, and gender and sexuality studies.
Her plans for after graduation include attending University of Illinois Urbana Champaign for a MA in urban planning!
One of her favorite memories from her time at Career Services include the annual Christmas parties!
Zakera’s advice to everyone is that “change is always bound to happen, so be acceptive and willing when your time comes”
We will miss you Zakera, but you will do great things! Good luck!

Please let us know if you need any assistance figuring out what is next or if you need help preparing for your next chapter – we are here to assist you and we are open during the January break.

We can help you with:
-Job search: searching, applying (resume, cover letter, LinkedIn networking), and interview prep
-Grad school applications
-Applying for jobs with the government
-“Gap year” opportunities for volunteerism, service, etc.
We can meet with you in person or on zoom and we will offer plenty of workshops over the next 10 weeks

Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful to all of our student workers who make all of our events and workshops so successful. They are all amazing to work with on an everyday basis.
