Dalton Phebus of Berlin was working in a restaurant and became the go-to for an unusual skill: fixing its arcade machines. “I became the game fixer – they called me ‘Pinball Dalton,’” he said. The Stephen Decatur High School grad realized this knack could be a calling. He started working for his father’s business as a network engineer. He also enrolled in Wor-Wic’s computer studies program, where he is thriving as a dean’s list student. He has already earned a CompTIA A+ certificate, and is considering a cybersecurity certification as well. “What I love about computers is how programmable they are, and it allows you to be creative and use your mind. You can turn them into what you want if you have the right skills,” he said.
