This past week the Critical Area Commission formally adopted the updated Critical Area Maps for Kent County. With Kent's approval there are now eight MD counties including Baltimore City that have gone through the Critical Area Remapping Process. There are currently four Counties in their final "approval" window which is a two year time frame for each County to go through their own approval process before bringing to the Commission for final adoption. The Lower Shore of Maryland has been digitized and is currently in the site visit and review stages with their respective jurisdictions.

The ESRGC is pleased to announce the release of the Delmarva Workforce Infographics. The first of three new data products coming to the Delmarva Index, this valuable resource provides easy access to economic and workforce data for Delmarva counties. Key indicators featured on the infographics include Median Household and Per Capita Income, Average Annual and Weekly Pay, Total Businesses and Employees, Disposable Income, Educational Attainment, and Commuting. Users can analyze the data for a single county or dive deeper into variables by clicking the icons to view a comparison of neighboring Counties, State, and the U.S.

As SU prepared to reopen for the fall semester, officials needed a way to transparently communicate COVID-19 testing results to the college campus and greater communities. Luckily, professionals at the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) at SU were ready to help. Known for its work providing mapping and technical assistance for state and local organizations, the ESRGC created a COVID-19 dashboard to easily display and interpret SU’s testing data.
