Save the date! We're holding our annual Pro Bono Initiative (PBI) Bake Sale Thursday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. All proceeds support PBI, where students and legal professionals volunteer to provide free brief legal advice to community members throughout the Salt Lake valley.

Harvard Law School Assistant Clinical Professor Andrew Mergen will speak about public lands in the Roberts Supreme Court on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 12:15-1:30 p.m. at our Wallace Stegner Center Greenbag event!

Mergen will analyze Supreme Court opinions under Chief Justice John Roberts that have shaped natural resources law applicable to public lands, including cases involving the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act and the Antiquities Act. He will illustrate how some of those opinions were shaped by the Chief Justice and influenced by his background and judicial philosophy.

TOMORROW: Join the Stegner Center and Grow the Flow at 6:30 p.m. for a screening of award-winning film “The Lake,” which addresses the existential threats facing the Great Salt Lake, followed by a panel discussion with Great Salt Lake leaders and scientists featured in the film.

Chris Carlson, who published a Great Salt Lake photography book called "Preserving Greatness," will also give audience members a glimpse into his work as a photographer and the Great Salt Lake fashion designs his photographs inspired.
