It recently received a full seven-year accreditation of its professional master’s degree, has launched an innovative undergraduate degree in Urban Ecology, and has a young Ph.D. Possessing a strong belief in collaboration and interdisciplinarity, the CMP department offers students dual degrees with the university’s School of Business (Master of Real Estate Development) and College of Law (Juris Doctor) and graduate certificates with the School of Architecture (Historic Preservation and Urban Design). Two research centers associated with the department include the Metropolitan Research Center and the Ecological Planning Center. Considerable potential for research, community involvement, and engagement in city and metropolitan issues exists in Utah’s unique and rapidly growing urban environment.
