Attention San Antonio area bassoonists! Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 4 because are back with another All-State Day for ATSSB bassoonists, and both bassoon AND contrabassoon for TMEA!

There will be individualized sessions on your etudes with Dr. Wildey, and we have two special guest sessions! Prof. Katherine Martz of Outer Loop Bassoon will be giving guided sessions on reed adjustments to help you get your misbehaving reeds in line (and have reeds and reed cases for sale!), and Prof. Sabrina Stovall of Adelante Winds will give a session on performance anxiety so you can feel your best on your big audition day.

New this year: YOU get to join us on a fun bassoon piece for our recital at the end of the day!

This event is $20 + fees per person, but full and half scholarships are available, as well as our new Siri Louise Bassoon All-State Day Memorial Scholarship.

Scan the QR code or click the link in our bio, and reach out to Dr. Wildey with any questions. We can’t wait to spent October 4 with you, upping your bassoon game!!

We did the thing!!!

Today we presented Extant Flight by at the Conference in Oxford, Ohio!! The importance and meaning behind a flexible instrumentation double reed quartet got our audience really excited and showed that while flextet writing is a challenge, it has so many benefits, not just with simply performing music but from a pedagogical perspective as well.

Thank you again, SO MUCH, to all of our generous donors who helped us get to Ohio for this once in a lifetime experience - we appreciate you more than words can say. 🫶🏼

And if you’re interested in this flextet and all its possibilities, you can head to Martin’s socials and still be part of the consortium with exclusivity rights through mid 2027!

We’re at and overwhelmed in the best way possible by the incredible performances, masterclasses, our own rehearsals, and seeing all the amazing things the vendors have to share.

This amazing opportunity for the double reed students at wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing donors who helped us raise 3k!!! One of those generous donors is Ariel Detwiler of who is here selling high quality bassoon cane, reeds, and other bassoon products.

Thank you so much, Ariel, for helping us reach our fundraising goal and helping our double reed students have a once in a lifetime opportunity to attend and perform at an International Double Reed Society Conference!
