The HCAD family is back together for the fall semester! We’re so excited to welcome M’28 and our newest cohort of Executive students, and to welcome back M’27! We kicked off the semester with first classes, orientation, the Graduate Student Mixer, and even a birthday celebration for Dr. Schumacher! Here’s to a great semester ahead!

This week our students had the chance to connect with incredible healthcare leaders across hospitals, health systems, clinics, and corporate teams. They shared experiences, outlined career goals, and explored exciting projects and leadership opportunities at their upcoming residencies. A huge thank you to the preceptors, recruiters, executives, residents, and fellows who invested in their growth, your guidance is shaping the next generation of healthcare leaders. Excited for what’s ahead!

Tiger Tank is a Shark Tank-style pitch competition where students develop and present innovative solutions to real healthcare challenges. Over the past two months, our students worked hard to identify problems, build solutions, and apply design thinking. We are so proud of all of our teams for their creativity, collaboration, and hard work!

This week we had the opportunity to spend time in Houston learning from healthcare leaders across Memorial Hermann, Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, and HCA Houston Healthcare / Gulf Coast. This trip gave our class such a valuable look into strategy, operations, and leadership in action, and we are leaving with so much to reflect on.
