Medical Assistant: you want to work directly with patients. You like a mix of clinical and admin work. Doctor's offices, clinics and urgent care settings are where you see yourself.

Lab Assistant: you like the technical and detail focused side of healthcare. Running EKG tests, drawing blood, processing specimens in a lab environment is where you would thrive.

Neither is better. They just fit different people. Both programs are right here at Lamson in San Antonio.

Most programs focus on one or the other. At Lamson you learn chairside assisting, radiography, infection control, patient care, scheduling, charting and how a dental practice actually runs from the inside out. You come out knowing the whole job not just part of it.

Nobody talks about the week in a program when everything feels like too much. So let's be real about it. 💪

There will be a point where the material is harder than expected. Where life outside of school gets loud and showing up feels like a lot. That feeling is completely normal and it does not mean you made the wrong call.

The Lamson students who made it to graduation are not the ones who found it easy. They are the ones who showed up anyway. If you are already in a program keep going. If you are thinking about starting know that the hard part is survivable.

"Today my life changed." 🙌

Those are his words and we could not have said it better. @6.8.incubus.in.210 passed his EPA 608 HVAC-R Universal Certification and pointed right at his name on that wall because he earned the right to do exactly that.

This is what showing up looks like. This is what the HVAC and Refrigeration program at Lamson leads to. Moments like this one.
