The Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department (ELPS) prepares educators to become transformational leaders who can work effectively in diverse, ambiguous, and challenging contexts. The goals of this transformational leadership include equity, excellence, social justice, democracy, risk-taking, and responsiveness to community needs. s receive a high quality educational experience that prepares them for work in PK-20 educational settings as educational leaders and scholars. Our doctoral students continue to be recognized by the American Educational Research Association and UCEA for the quality of their research, present regularly at national and regional conferences, while our Master's degree and certification students complete our programs ready to assume increasingly responsible leadership positions in a variety of educational settings.
