Delta Kappa Chapter Vice President Franklin reports on the death of a loved one.

The word "L-O-V-E" can encompass many events in our lives especially when it is happiness, gladness, fun-filled, and awesomeness. Sometimes there is another side of love we don't discuss often enough until it happens, death of a loved one. Delta Kappa Chapter San Antonio had our share: the deaths of our remaining Shads during the end of 2025. It was heartbreaking. These great respectable men are truly loved and will truly be missed. We Sorors are happy to be there for our sisters during these trying times. That's what we do.

Delta Kappa Chapter Vice President Franklin reports on sisterly love.

Ms. Addie (on the right) is a faithful member of the Vintage Jewels Red Hats in San Antonio and my friend who lives one neighborhood over from me. She had a major stroke in September 2025. She was admitted into the hospital and provided encouragement to get well. This stroke has slowed down this busy traveling lady. Since cardiovascular issues are major among African Americans, we kept on her during recovery. We met her daughters who live out of the state. Since Ms. Addie can no longer drive, I make sure to invite her to events and pick her up. Also, we visit her at home for movies, food, and fellowship.

A lesson learned for us ladies of different ages: we need to take time to call or text (GIF plus a sentence). We always tell each other, "Love you Sis", because life is short and God may decide to call us home. Never get caught saying, "I forgot to tell her how much I love her and what she means to me." That's what "sisterly love" is all about.

Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc Delta Kappa Chapter Members Anita L. Franklin, Ruthie Keys, and Carlotta Forrester-Langford in collaboration with Roy B.
Hodges Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 128 visited veterans at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in Floresville TX on September 30, 2025. Member, Comrad Franklin, is also a disabled veteran.
They dined at La Tapatia Mexican Restaurant for lunch and had a great time laughing and fellowshipping with the veterans.

Delta Kappa Chapter has partnered with Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home in hopes of connecting with their residents through activities, support, fellowship, and more.

The staff is wonderful, and the gentlemen really enjoyed hanging out with the ladies of Delta Kappa and DAV. Good time by all!
