Sociology - San Bernardino Valley College Sociology is a social science involving the study of societies.

Through analyses of society, its institutions, groups, processes, and social lives of people, sociologists attempt to understand and predict social interactions and change. Sociology prepares students for further study of and careers in social work and counseling, social services, probation, corrections, law enforcement, research, public policy, law, education, and other fields which require an un

derstanding of social life. The sociology program includes basic introductory courses in sociology, social problems, institutions, and social inequality.
