SDSU Alma Mater:
Hail Montezuma
We with loyal hearts our homeage pay:
Proud working and glorying,
In the spirit of the Aztec name. To thee, San Diego
And the fond Traditions old and new
A tribute raise of lasting praise and steadfast faith,
Hail Montezuma. Hail Montezuma
We salute thy glorious destiny:
Far seeing in company days,
Men and women strong who live in truth. To thee, San Diego
And the Black and Scarlet we'll be true
An echo comes from Aztec drums through all the years,
Hail Montezuma! SDSU Fight Song:
Fight on and on ye Aztec men
Sons of Montezuma
We will win again
Keep your spirits high
Never bow a knee
We will fight till victory

Fight on and on ye Aztec men
Proudly raise your banners high
For it's the Red and Black
Hail to our team
San Diego Aztecs fight!

An Aztec football legacy that lives on through giving back. ❤️🖤

SDSU alumni Bruce Ward (’73) and Nancy Ward (’73) continue to honor the SDSU football program and university that have remained a meaningful part of their lives. Bruce wore No. 71 from 1969–71, and today, his number has a permanent place in the SDSU football locker room through their gift to SDSU Athletics.

When Dennis Szeto (’75) arrived in the U.S. as a child, he barely spoke English.

Years later, an SDSU finance class opened his eyes to the possibilities of investing and helped shape a successful career. Now, Dennis and his wife, Elaine, are investing in the next generation of educators.

The Szetos have created a $250,000 matching challenge to support scholarships for current and future educators studying at SDSU. “There’s no better investment than to support a teacher,” Elaine says. Learn how you can help expand their impact and support future teachers. https://bit.ly/3VgQ4HV ❤️

Once an Aztec, always an Aztec. ❤️🖤

SDSU Homecoming is a reminder that no matter when you graduated, where life has taken you or how you became part of the SDSU family, you’ll always have a place here. Yesterday, we celebrated the memories that bring generations of Aztecs together. Happy Homecoming!

Before kickoff, every Aztec has a way to lock in. 🏈

For SDSU football, that can mean putting on shoes in the exact same order every time, eating a specific meal or calling a loved one.

Before the first Pac-12 whistle blew, SDSU Magazine asked the team about the rituals they swear by: https://bit.ly/4dyfG9x

What do we choose to keep, transform or let go of?

SDSU alumna Christine Lee (’04, MFA) turned her mother’s worn handbag into something new, stitching its leather, hardware and history into tools for daily life. Her work is part of “Becoming Heirlooms,” an exhibition featuring multiple generations of SDSU-connected artists exploring memory, inheritance and the meaning we give to the objects passed down to us.

See the exhibition through Nov. 7 at the San Diego Central Library’s Judith Harris Art Gallery, and tell us: What object or story has become an heirloom in your family? https://bit.ly/4xZbVRO

Jellyfish stings. A bee sting to the mouth. 80-degree heat and 80% humidity. And somehow, Megan Imbres (’04) still made the podium.

The SDSU alum and Peloton chief marketing officer finished third in her age group at the Ironman 70.3 Eagleman, earning a spot at the world championship in Nice, France.

For Imbres, endurance is about more than pushing through a race. It’s knowing where to focus when everything is coming at you at once, a lesson she carries into leadership, parenting and life. https://bit.ly/4dexR3U

What if access to groceries, housing assistance or a gas gift card could make the difference in whether a student stays enrolled?

At SDSU, the Basic Needs Center, Residential Housing Fund and A.S. Food Pantry help students meet essential needs so they can focus on academics and continue working toward their goals.

For electrical engineering major Jorden Garcia, these resources were life-changing. Learn how you can help provide this kind of support to more SDSU students. ❤️ https://bit.ly/4za28ZU

For the Day family, being an Aztec is part of the family tree. ❤️

Twelve family members have attended San Diego State University, continuing a tradition that began nearly five decades ago when Thomas B. Day became SDSU president and his daughter Monica Berenter (’80) transferred to SDSU.

Their connection to SDSU has continued through generations, with family members like Adam Day (’91, ’24 LHD) staying well connected to the university, supporting student success and cheering on the Aztecs together. Today, the next generation is already making memories at SDSU basketball games. https://bit.ly/4xWaK5i

For David Judson (’92), carrying on the family business meant honoring nearly 130 years of history while finding new ways to move it forward.

As president of Judson Studios, America’s oldest family-run stained-glass studio, he has helped expand its craft through new techniques, new generations of artisans and ambitious projects, including the world’s largest single fused glass window.

David’s story is a reminder that legacy is not only about preserving what came before. It is also about shaping what comes next. Read more about the SDSU alumnus behind this remarkable family business: https://bit.ly/3U4lIba

SDSU Athletics raised a record $37.5 million in fiscal year 2026, thanks to more than 4,500 donors backing Aztec student-athletes. ❤️

More than half of those donors are SDSU alumni, showing how deeply Aztec pride carries forward long after graduation.

That support is helping student-athletes succeed in competition, in the classroom and beyond while strengthening the future of SDSU Athletics.

To every alum, fan, family member and friend who helped make this possible: thank you for believing in our Aztecs.

SDSU is strengthening connections across the U.S.-Mexico border through a new partnership with Universidad Intercultural de Baja California (UIBC), a public university serving Indigenous and migrant communities in rural Baja California.

The partnership creates new possibilities for SDSU and UIBC students and faculty to learn alongside one another through exchanges, bilingual teacher education and shared academic experiences. With collaboration already underway in intercultural education and plans for UIBC students to study English through SDSU Global Campus, this partnership is creating meaningful opportunities for learning across borders. 🌎
