Join us for the Jean Dreyfus Lectureship in Chemistry
June 10–11, 2026
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites you to two days of distinguished lectures from Dr. Timothy Swager (MIT), made possible by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation. Please click the links in our bio to register and for additional information on these events.
Day 1: Public Seminar and Reception
• Degheri Alumni Center
• 4:00 to 5:00 PM seminar, followed by a reception from 5:00 to 6:30 PM
• Free Admission (please register by June 3rd-see bio for links)
Dr. Timothy Swager of MIT will present “Molecular Electronics for High-Performance Sensors,” a dynamic lecture designed for a broad audience with engaging demonstrations. The evening continues with “The Molecular Mixer,” a hosted reception offering an opportunity to connect with alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
Day 2: Chemistry Symposium
• Mother Rosalie Hill Hall, Warren Auditorium
• 1:00 to 6:00 PM | Free admission (no registration required)
The symposium will feature a keynote lecture by Dr. Swager, “Magneto-Optics of Molecular and Polymeric Materials,” alongside presentations from distinguished faculty across regional institutions, including USD, SDSU, UCSD, PLNU, and CSU San Marcos. Topics span major areas of chemistry, with time for networking and scholarly exchange.
