What a week! 🎉

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, The Revolution Will Not Be Disciplined brought together faculty, students, staff, and community members for an interdisciplinary exploration of democracy, citizenship, and the American experiment.

Special thanks to the College of Arts and Sciences for its support, to Timothy McCarty, PhD for expertly hosting each evening’s conversation, and to our partners in the Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies and School of Law. Thank you as well to our faculty panelists and everyone who joined us throughout the week.

Here’s to 250 years of our unfinished revolution, and to many more years of conversation, community, and reflection as we continue to unpack the legacy of revolution and democracy together!

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, faculty from across disciplines are coming together for a special series of panels and conversations.

The Revolution Will Not Be Disciplined explores some BIG questions about American identity, democracy, resistance, civic engagement and what it means to create change.

With perspectives from political science, law, history, theology, mathematics, music and more, this series is an opportunity to step outside the classroom, hear from different voices and engage with ideas that have shaped — and continue to shape — the United States.

And of course, what’s a 250th birthday without a birthday party? 🎂🇺🇸 Join us on October 1st for A Revolutionary Birthday Party as we celebrate this historic milestone together!

Plus, we’ll have free mini U.S. Constitutions available at every event! 📖🇺🇸

This is a special opportunity to be part of USD’s 250th anniversary celebrations, and we hope you’ll join us and make the most of it! 💙

Swipe through to explore the events and find a conversation that sparks your interest! ✨
