Campus Closure Reminder 📢

San Diego State University will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.
While campus offices will be closed, payments can still be made online through my.SDSU.

🎓 SCHOLARSHIP OF THE DAY 🎓

Today’s Scholarship of the Day is the Val Ryser Memorial Scholarship, which only requires submission of the general application!

Who should apply?
* Upper-division undergraduates majoring in journalism or journalism with an emphasis advertising (who have completed at least 60 units)
* Recipients must have a minimum GPA of 3.5
* Preferred student will be returning to higher education after taking a break (e.g. in the workforce)

How to apply:
* Get started at sdsu.edu/scholarships and click “Apply.”
* Complete the General Application.

The application closes in one week. Don’t forget to submit yours! 💫

Who should apply?
* Seniors majoring in art with emphasis in painting and printmaking
* Recipients must have financial need, determined by filing a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA)

* Complete the General Application.
* Find this scholarship in your list of Recommended Opportunities.
* Submit two original paintings completed at SDSU.
* Provide a link to your portfolio.

Have a passion for AI? If so, apply for the James Silberrad Brown Endowed Scholarship!

Who should apply?
* Students involved in the James Silberrad Brown Center for Artificial Intelligence
* Minimum GPA of 3.0
* Recipients must have financial need, determined by filing a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA)

How to apply:

* Complete the General Application.
* Find this scholarship in your list of Recommended Opportunities.
* Upload a resume/CV.
* Submit a report defining AI, describing an AI-related research project you have participated in or would like to explore, and detailing your experience and involvement with the James Silberrad Brown Center for Artificial Intelligence.

Who should apply?
* Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are eligible.
* Recipients must actively participate in programming through SDSU’s Chinese Cultural Center.
* Recipients must have financial need, determined by filing a FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).

How to apply:

* Find this scholarship in your list of Recommended Opportunities.
* Submit an essay describing an experience, Chinese Cultural Center activity, and/or SDSU course that deepened your awareness of global health issues and inspired you to take action supporting marginalized communities, addressing global health challenges, and promoting diversity and cultural understanding.

Who should apply?
* Majoring in Mechanical, Environmental, or Construction Engineering (including Construction Engineering Management)
* Enrolled full-time
* Sophomore, junior, or senior, OR a graduate student
* Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (4.00 scale or equivalent)
* Preference given to members of the SDSU ASHRAE Student Chapter
