Congrats to University of San Diego Professor, Orlando Espin, and his husband, Ricardo Gallego, for being awarded this year’s San Diego Pride Inspirational couple award.

From San Diego Pride, “Ricardo Gallego and Orlando Espín have been together 26 years, and were civilly married in California in 2008. They are very proud of their affirming, supportive families and friends. Ricardo has been very much involved in the San Diego LGBTQ community since 1999. More recently, he led the Center’s efforts to serve the many LGBTQ refugees arriving at our local border, and continues to work with several local immigrant-rights organizations. Orlando has been professor at the University of San Diego since 1991, after serving on the faculty of the University of Florida and he was among the first in his field to write and speak on LGBTQ rights and realities, and has encouraged others to do so.”

San Diego LGBT Community Center is hosting their 13th Annual Dining Out For Life® San Diego on May 2nd!

There are more than 80 participating locations donating 25% percent or more of their sales on the day of the event to support HIV services and prevention programs at The Center. This includes a record number of 17 restaurants giving 50% or more to the Dining Out For Life San Diego. The San Diego LGBT Community Center offers free HIV (and Hep C) testing 6 days a week! We believe it is important that everyone knows their status so they have the knowledge to take the appropriate treatment or prevention measures. As part of our efforts, we want to remind you of our testing program, and invite you to get a free HIV test here at The Center. In fact, if you do so by March 31, and bring a printed copy of the card below, we’ll GIVE YOU a $20 Visa gift card just for getting an HIV test!

We use the Rapid Test, wherein results will be delivered in about 20 minutes. Anonymous (no name) or confidential testing is available. Walk-ins are welcome but it’s best to make an appointment by calling 619-692-2077.

🌡️💉Services include basic primary care, immunizations, chest/breast cancer screening, family planning, pap smears, pregnancy testing, hormone therapy, PrEP (through Rx), STD screening & treatment and sick & well visits. Contact The Center at 619.692.2077 x211 to make an appointment!
