✨Join us on Thursday, October 12 from 5-7:30 p.m. for an engaging, interactive all community workshop that asks us to consider relational containers beyond the couple’s dynamic and what joy and belonging can come from the expansion of the idea and actuality of deep personal relationships 🫂

⏰The event starts at 5:00 p.m. with a short reception, then leads into presentations and interactive breakouts, where connection and community can blossom. 🌸

Hear from professors Dr. Chris Walling and Gila Ashtor who present their rich academic work and be a part of the conversation.

Our spooky Mindful Makers crafting hour yesterday was so fun! We gathered and talked about holiday gifts, Halloween candy, costumes, the best items we have found for free, horror movies, and more!

Join us on Thursday, November 19 for our final Mindful Makers of the fall as we decorate paper for wrapping all kinds of gifts! We will have paper, markers, stickers, stamps, paint, and of course snacks!

Find us in CIIS’ Awakenings Cafe from 2-3pm, bring your own craft, just hang out, all supplies are included, and all CIIS students, faculty, and staff are welcome!

Join us Today (October 15) and November 19 at 2PM in Awakenings Cafe for scary/seasonal crafts!

October 15 get Halloweeny with us as you craft your own masks from the materials we have! We will also have Halloween-inspired coloring pages, and jars, tea lights, and tissue to decorate monster/pumpkin lanterns. 👾🎃

November 19 we will have stamps, stencils, markers, and more to decorate your own gift paper for any gift situation, be it for November or December holidays, or beyond.

No registration necessary. Come as you are, snacks and supplies included.

✨Join CIIS at San Francisco’s Walk to End Alzheimer’ on Saturday, October 24✨

🍃Our CIIS community, like communities across the world, are impacted by Alzheimer’s and other dementia and memory-based diseases, affecting families, friend communities, and the larger Beloved Community ecosystem.

🌻Joining Team CIIS is one way to come together and honor loved ones, caregivers, and any/all affected by these diseases.

🚶🏽‍♀️WALK🚶🏾

⏰When: Saturday, October 24. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., the opening ceremony is at 10:00 a.m., and the walk begins at 10:30 a.m.

📍Where: Bayfront Park in Mission Bay (Warriors Way & Terry A. Francois Blvd, near Chase Center)

🚏Route: 1-mile or 3-mile options, so everyone can move at a pace that feels good

🎟️Cost: Registration is free. Donations are welcome but never expected.

🍃Each person registers individually (it just takes a minute and includes the event waiver).Partners, friends, kids, pets, and anyone in your life who’d like to walk are warmly welcome.

💲DONATE: Team CIIS has a goal to raise $7,500! If you can’t be there in person, you can still walk with us in spirit by making a donation of any amount. Every bit helps us reach our goal.

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect. Sometimes we can train, prepare, and still the breakdown in communication and community is a sign of needs to be addressed. Shirley and Rachel offer their thoughts on rupture and repair!
