Do you enjoy telling stories about creative people following their passions and doing awesome things? Do you like learning about various art and design disciplines? Academy of Art University is currently seeking two students for its new Art U News Internship. These student roles will work alongside Art U News, Academy of Art University’s official online news publication.

Art U News is our storytelling platform, highlighting our alumni and students and sharing their Academy journey as well as their post-university experience. The Art U News Internship will help cover disciplines in 20-plus areas of art and design for ArtUNews.com and our social media channels—from Fine Art to Fashion and Entertainment to Automotive Design. Additionally, Art U News covers campus news, events, and industry guest speakers. This an exciting opportunity for burgeoning journalists interested in various creative disciplines and both written and visual storytelling.

The Art U News Internship has two Student Reporter positions open for Spring 2025. The positions are open to all majors. Students must be on-site/hybrid for the Spring 2025 semester.

*This is an unpaid internship, nine (9) hours per week. You will earn three (3) LA/GLA units towards your degree.

How to Participate?
• Open to all students! Be a contestant or a judge.
• View all submitted artworks and vote for the top two pieces!

Prizes
• 1st Place: Advanced Oil Painting Set + Artwork by Fine Art Department Director- Craig Nelson
• 2nd Place: The Winner Portrait by Professor Tomutsu Takishima
• 3rd Place: 36” x 48” Canvas

Contestant Requirements
• Accepting all “Fine Arts” traditional mediums.
• Minimum canvas size: 11” x 14”.

CyberConnect2 is a renowned game development company from Japan with many internationally acclaimed titles under their belt. Join Executive Vice President Taichiro Miyazaki for an informative presentation about what makes the company successful, and about their overseas recruitment process! The presentation will comprise of an overview of the company, their foreign staffs’ experiences in a Japanese work environment, and the support offered by CyberConnect2 to those coming from overseas. The presentation will be done in Japanese with English interpretation, with a Q&A to follow.
This is your chance to ask questions directly with an industry professional and gain information that could shape your future career path!
