Closing Nurses Week by Honoring Lynda Boyer-Chu 💚💛
As we conclude National Nurses Week 2026, we are proud to recognize Lynda Boyer-Chu, recipient of the 2025–2026 Adjunct Faculty Award.
Through her leadership in Community Health, Lynda has created meaningful learning experiences that bring nursing students beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community. At The Healing WELL SF she led students in providing a student-run clinic experience for members of the Tenderloin community, offering services such as blood pressure screenings, blood glucose checks, wound care support, health referrals, and therapeutic hand and foot massages.
Her teaching reminds students that community health is rooted in relationship, humility, trauma-informed care, advocacy, and justice. Through community exploration across the Tenderloin, SOMA, and the Excelsior, Lynda helped students better understand the structural conditions that shape health while learning directly from the communities they serve.
Her work reflects the heart of Living the Mission and the power of Jesuit education: learning with and from communities, honoring lived experience, and preparing future nurses to serve with compassion, cultural humility, and a commitment to health equity.
As we celebrate Nurses Week, we honor Lynda’s dedication to shaping nurses who are prepared to heal, lead, and transform health care for a more just world.
Congratulations, Lynda Boyer-Chu! 🩺✨
