Gurnick Academy We have been training America's future healthcare workers with nursing, medical imaging, and therapy career training programs since 2004.

The San Jose campus is located in a 40,000-square-foot, two-story professional building, just minutes from the San Jose Mineta International Airport. The first floor houses the administrative offices, while the second floor houses eight classrooms and nine labs. Labs are equipped with ultrasound machines capable of performing general and specialized procedures, hi-lo treatment tables, exercise equipment, hospital beds, mannequins, and equipment for examination and diagnostic assistance, including scales, EKG machines, and urine and blood testing. The nursing interactive simulation room contains four specialty rooms with high-fidelity mannequins, controlled from an observation room via a two-way communication system and cameras.

Some lessons become much more meaningful when students get to see the impact behind them. 🦿💙

Our A.S. in Physical Therapist Assistant Program students visited Prosthetic Solutions in Santa Clara to explore rehabilitation for individuals with limb loss.

Students learned more about what it can take to help someone adapt to a new prosthetic, how physical therapist assistants may work alongside prosthetists, and why patient advocacy matters throughout the rehabilitation process.

It’s one thing to study these concepts in class. It’s another to see how they can become part of someone’s journey toward greater mobility and independence.

Congratulations to Kamilia Bell, our Corporate Director of Financial Aid, on being named the 2026 Norma Ford Financial Aid Professional of the Year by the California Association of Private Postsecondary Schools (CAPPS). 🎉

Over the past 16 years, Kamilia has grown from Financial Aid Advisor to Corporate Director of Financial Aid, while supporting students, mentoring colleagues, and helping strengthen collaboration across Gurnick Academy.

This recognition honors excellence, service, mentorship, integrity, and a commitment to ethical practice in financial aid.

Balance is something we use every day, but understanding what affects it takes a closer look. 👀

Students in Gurnick Academy’s A.S. in Physical Therapist Assistant Program explored the vestibular system with Dr. Hilary Register from Register Physical Therapy.

Using vestibular goggles and head laser pointers, students were able to observe eye movement, explore head and neck stability, and better understand how these concepts connect to vestibular therapy and patient care.
