Interested in putting Asian American Studies into action? Want to build community and student activism at SJSU?

The AAS Junior Organizer Internship is an opportunity to develop your community organizing skills, collaborate with other students, and support projects, campaigns, and events through the AAS Street Team.

Duration: October 2–December 11, 2026
Compensation: $100 supply incentive upon satisfactory completion of Internship

As a Junior Organizer, you’ll attend weekly Street Team meetings, contribute to projects and events, and work alongside AAS students and organizers.

💭 Who can apply?
Current SJSU students are in good standing. AAS majors/minors and students who have completed an AAS course are encouraged to apply, along with anyone interested in Asian American Studies, community organizing, and student activism.

As the Spring semester comes to a close, we are saddened to have to say goodbye to Professor Lawrence Lan as he begins the next chapter of his career.

During his time with our program, Professor Lan has been instrumental in its growth and has become a beloved member of our community. He has consistently shown up for our students, introduced many to Asian American Studies, challenged them to think critically, and inspired them to deepen their learning. His dedication, mentorship, and commitment have left a lasting impact on our program and everyone fortunate enough to learn from him.

We could go on and on about all that Professor Lan has contributed to our community. On behalf of the SJSU Asian American Studies faculty and students, we’re so grateful for your time with us. We wish you the very best in your next chapter and celebrate you as one of our SJSU GOAAATs (the Greatest of All Asian American Time) 🐐
