Beginning Monday, Oct. 19, construction will affect access to the North Garage through the end of October. The garage will remain open, but lane closures may cause delays, especially between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please allow extra travel time and plan ahead when coming to campus.

To help reduce delays, consider using the West Garage, South Garage or South Campus Parking Garage. (Note: The South Campus Parking Garage offers ample parking.)

Today, SJSU students joined the legendary John Carlos for a meaningful panel discussion on courage, resilience and the responsibility to help create a better future. 🌟

Legacy Day honors the example set by SJSU Alumni and Olympians John Carlos, Tommie Smith and other changemakers whose work, perseverance and unwavering spirit continue to inspire multiple generations. Their stories remind students that the legacies they inherit are also legacies they have the power to carry forward.

As we celebrate those who paved the way, we are reminded of the purpose behind our own efforts. Carlos’ wisdom reminds us that the future belongs to those who lead with purpose, stand with courage and keep moving forward.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, San José State University recognizes the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe and its continuing relationship with the land on which the university stands.

We also recognize that Indigenous peoples are not only part of the history of this place, they are living peoples and sovereign nations whose knowledge, leadership, cultures, and communities continue to shape the present and the future.

Today and every day, SJSU has a responsibility to respect Indigenous sovereignty and self-determination, support Indigenous students and communities, and build relationships with Tribal Nations in respect, reciprocity and accountability.

Art can create connection, challenge assumptions and make space for stories that deserve to be heard.

Tonight, San José State University’s Record Clearance Project presents “Connecting Systems. Centering Humanity,” an exhibition featuring the work of 18 artists with lived experiences of homelessness and/or incarceration.

🗓️ Tuesday, September 29th
🕐 6pm-8pm
🌇 San Jose Marriott, Downtown San Jose

Among the featured artists is Roman Rozin, whose creativity and lived experience add a powerful voice to this meaningful exhibition.

Special thanks to Local Color or helping bring this collection of art, stories and perspectives to the community.

Through paintings, sculptures, drawings and music, the exhibition centers dignity, creativity, resilience and belonging. Each piece offers an opportunity to see the person, the story and the possibility beyond the systems that too often define people’s lives.
