Happy World Architecture Day! 🌎🏛️

Today gives us an extra reason to celebrate what we love about being architects.

Architecture is about more than designing buildings. It’s about listening, collaborating, solving problems, and turning ideas into spaces that serve people and strengthen communities.

We’re grateful for the clients, consultants, contractors, jurisdictions, and community partners who collaborate with us every day, and for the opportunity to do work that has a lasting impact on the places we call home.

Here’s to thoughtful design, creative problem-solving, and the communities that inspire our work.

What a colorful weekend in Downtown SLO! 🎨✨

We had such a great time participating in ’s inaugural Paint the Plaza at Mission Plaza this past weekend.

A huge thank you to our talented artist, , for bringing the studio 2G square to life. We loved watching the artwork take shape throughout the day and seeing the Plaza filled with so much creativity from artists and organizations across the Central Coast.

It was also great to see our friends at out celebrating design, art, and our creative community alongside us!

Thank you to and everyone who helped make the first Paint the Plaza such a fun community event. We’re already looking forward to next year! 💛

We are excited to welcome ✨Marcello D'Alfonso✨ to the team as a Landscape and Architectural Associate!

Marcello is a Central Coast native, born and raised in Templeton, California. He earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2024.

Marcello’s interest in landscape architecture began at an early age. While working for his father’s construction company👷‍♂️ in high school, he developed an appreciation for the design process and was inspired by seeing ideas move from drawings and plans to built spaces. That experience helped shape his decision to pursue a career where creativity, design, and construction come together.

Looking ahead, Marcello hopes to become a licensed Landscape Architect and continue growing as a designer and leader. His long-term goal is to either own his own landscape architecture firm, or run a landscape architecture department within a multidisciplinary practice, helping build and shape a strong landscape architecture team. ⭐️

Outside of the office, Marcello enjoys staying active and spending as much time outdoors as possible 🌿. Whether he’s at the gym, hiking around the Central Coast, relaxing at the beach, or spending time with his Australian Shepherd 🐶, he’s happiest when he can get outside. His ideal day starts with a workout and a trip to the dog park, followed by plenty of time to relax and enjoy everything the Central Coast has to offer.

Join us in welcoming Marcello!

Thanks, UCSC!

Heidi and Ashley recently attended the Design + Construction Industry Outreach Event at the renovated Cowell Historic Hay Barn. It was a great opportunity to connect with the UCSC team and fellow design and construction professionals while learning more about what’s ahead for the campus.

We’re excited about future opportunities to collaborate with the university and contribute to projects that support the UCSC community. Thanks to everyone who made the event possible!
