A special congratulations to Dr. Tracy Thatcher on receiving the 2026 Lyman A. Ripperton Environmental Educator Award, recognizing her exceptional teaching, mentorship, and lasting contributions to the environmental engineering profession.

We’re also proud to celebrate our Environmental Engineering student team—Sofia Bourque, Noemi Grascoeur, Jessica Martinez, Aamori Waller, and Sydney Wilcox—for earning a tie for first place at the Environmental Challenge International (ECi) Competition. Their accomplishment reflects the innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence that define Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing philosophy.
