Compassion can make a lasting impact — sometimes starting with something as simple as a teddy bear.

In SideBarMedia's conversation with Susie Hanson, founder and CEO of Teddy Bears with Heart, Den of Good Bears of the World, she shares how the organization has donated more than 350,000 stuffed animals to first responders, hospitals, and agencies to comfort children and individuals during difficult times.

We appreciate conversations that highlight practical ways organizations are supporting their communities and making a difference.

San Luis Obispo College of Law was proud to participate in the recent Attorneys in the Margins (AIM) Mixer at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), where Campus Dean Erica Flores Baltodano and attorney alumni connected with students to discuss law school, the legal profession, and career opportunities in the field of law.

AIM is a student-led pre-law organization dedicated to supporting students from historically marginalized, first-generation, and underrepresented backgrounds who are interested in pursuing legal careers.

SLOCL is honored to help students explore an affordable, accessible pathway to law school and remains committed to creating opportunities for future legal professionals in our community.

"The Class of 2026 has worked incredibly hard. They've balanced full-time jobs, family responsibilities, and a rigorous load of evening law school classes, clinics, and internships. We look forward to celebrating all of their accomplishments and honoring the sacrifices of their loved ones who will be present and have supported them along their law school journey." ~ SLOCL Campus Dean Erica Flores Baltodano.
