The Media Studies Department has a fully-functional photo lab and studios, a professional newsroom that produces the award-winning campus newspaper The Telescope, FCC licensed AM radio station running state-of-the-art broadcasting software, editing suites equipped with the latest versions of AVID and FinalCut Pro, and access to a multi-million dollar television studio where students broadcast a live weekly news program. The Media Studies Department is winner of over 40 Emmy Awards, 6 Communicator Awards, several state and national photography, journalism, cinema, and broadcasting awards. Alumni of the Media Studies Department work in several industries as photojournalists, newspaper editors, morning radio show hosts, news anchors, and film producers
