At the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Pacific Southwest Chapter Emmy Awards, AMD student Salma Rodriguez was a nominee in three categories: Student Programming - Short Form, Student Craft - Writing, and Student Craft - Editor for a short documentary piece she created entitled "Border Line Fears" that spoke about immigration to the United States from Mexico and sought to humanize the main-stream news stories related to the subject and put real faces on the statistics that we all so frequently encounter when it comes to those seeking opportunity in the U.S. Fantastically, Salma won student Emmy awards in all three categories!
