Coronavirus (COVID-19) News
Commencement:
We know that Commencement is the culmination of a ton of hard work, a lack of sleep and due to a lot of support from family, friends, faculty, staff and fellow students. We are disheartened to share that we have canceled the 2020 Commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 22. Our decision is based on our determination to do everything that we can to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The information we have been provided by public health experts indicates that our region will continue to be impacted by COVID-19 throughout this semester and we feel the cancelation of this year-end celebration is the best action we can take to support the health and safety of our region. All Palomar College graduates, should remain on the lookout for a congratulatory message from me that will outline the next steps in receiving your diploma cover and commemorative chords, stoles and program.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) News
Reminder:

The district and college will remain open; but no instruction (no classes at all) will take place this week March 16-March 21.

The week of March 23 is SPRING BREAK and campus is closed!

When we return to coursework on Monday, March 30, your classes will be delivered via remote instruction (online, video web conferencing, email, etc. ).

There are some exceptions, particularly those that require clinicals and labs. Please contact your program chair BEFORE class!

Due to the fact that we are committed to minimizing the spread of the virus, students are asked not to come to campus. This aids in our effort to implement social distancing as recommended at this time.

Students: keep checking your student email and palomar.edu/COVID-19 for updates. Be sure to check Canvas for guidance relating to your classes. If you don't hear from your instructors do not get left out! Reach out and contact them about how your course will proceed.

Did you know our Geography 120 Intro to Geographic Information Systems and GIS Software class works with the Palomar College Arboretum every semester to catalog the arboretum? It’s one of many semester long projects undertaken by students to put their GIS skills to work in the field. 🌵Green everywhere 🌵
