From voters’ rights to taxing the rich, the 2026 midterm ballot includes plenty of important propositions. So M.E.Ch.A. de CSUSM has created this voter guide to share how we’ll be voting in this election.

We know voting may seem pointless, as escalating fascism continues to terrorize our communities, but these systems of power want us to believe our voice doesn’t matter. We need to come together and vote on these issues to keep our communities safe.

Your voice matters. Your vote matters.

Election Day is Nov. 3, and the last day to register to vote is Oct. 19. Early voting is highly recommended this election, so drop off your ballot at an official ballot drop box by Oct. 27. You can find an official drop box near the Administration Building on Craven Cr., next to the NCTD bus stop.

¡CHINGA LA MIGRA! Join M.E.Ch.A. de CSUSM and the Social Justice Coalition as we speak out against the recent and ongoing attacks from I.C.E. on our community.

I.C.E. activity has increased significantly lately due to the launch of the Trump Administration’s Operation Safe California. I.C.E. was even confirmed to be at the Ralph’s across the street from CSUSM on Oct. 14!

We will also be speaking out against the ALPR camera near UPD, because we know this is the exact type of surveillance technology I.C.E. relies on.

We hope you’ll join us in Oct. 22, noon to 1 p.m., in the Kellogg Plaza.

Did you know that every time you drive by the CSUSM UPD near Campus Dr. and La Moree Rd. your license plate is being scanned?

As M.E.Ch.A. de CSUSM, we believe that this Automated License Plate Recognition camera (ALPR) is putting the safety and privacy of our community at risk. We are currently investigating what data is being collected, where it’s being stored and shared, and who approved putting this ALPR on our campus in the first place.

This family is part of the North County and CSUSM community, we are heartbroken to learn ICE has torn and attacked this family. Today, we are asking our community to stand with them during this difficult process. Losing a two key providers in their family they need our support as they address living expenses, legal fees, and family stability.

In response to the increase in recent I.C.E. attacks in our area and requests from students, we’re adding a Know Your Rights workshop to our GBM schedule. Join us in learning about our rights when encountering immigration enforcement and how we can protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our community.
