Florida Gateway College- Avery & Twyla Roberts School of Public Service Florida Gateway College has been training law enforcement officers since 1969.

Basic Law Enforcement Certificate:

This 770 hour Basic recruit course is designed to provide the student with the state required training, which prepares and allows the student to take the State of Florida FDLE Certification Examination. This program prepares students for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) exam. Students cannot be employed as a law enforcement officer in Florida u

nless they complete a Basic Recruit course and pass the FDLE certification exam. Florida Gateway College's Basic Recruit Academy offers a training program for law enforcement officers, which focuses on:

Defensive tactics and weapons
Vehicle operation and traffic enforcement
Law enforcement patrol
Criminal investigations
Relationships with the community
Legal issues and many others

Starting Salary:
$49,471 – $69,607
