📅 Saturday, October 24 | 5–10 PM
📍 Emil Buehler Planetarium at Seminole State College

Join us for a night of stargazing, spooky activites, hair-raising science, and of course… CANDY! 🍬

✅ FREE and open to all
✅ No tickets needed, just show up!
✅ Costumes encouraged, so dress in your Halloween best 👻

🕔 5–8 PM: Hands-On Fun
Science and engineering demos, live animals, theater performances, spooky storytime and more!

🌙 8–10 PM: Night Sky Observing
Look through telescopes with the Emil Buehler Planetarium and Central Florida Astronomical Society.

🍕 Food and drinks for purchase (while supplies last)
🎒 Bring your trick-or-treat bag! We will be handing out lots of candy (while supplies last).

Being able to find, understand, and use health information is an important life skill! Whether you're reading medication instructions, completing medical forms, or asking questions at a doctor's appointment, literacy plays an important role in making informed health decisions.

🌟 Did you know? Seminole State College's Adult Education program supports health literacy through our Healthy Living class, offered to currently enrolled upper-level ESOL and GED students! Our next 8-week Healthy Living class begins tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20, at the Altamonte Springs campus!

What is Breast Cancer Awareness Month?

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an international health campaign that’s held every October. The month aims to promote screening and reduce the risk of the disease, which affects 2.4 million women worldwide. 1 Known best for its pink theme color, the month features a number of campaigns and programs designed to:

support people diagnosed with breast cancer, including those with metastatic breast cancer

educate people about breast cancer risk factors

motivate people — including those who identify as women, men, non-binary, or trans — to learn about their risk of breast cancer

encourage people to go for regular breast cancer screening — for women, regular scans begin at age 40 or earlier, depending on personal breast cancer risk

raise money for breast cancer research
