🎉狂賀！ UCSB 臺灣研究中心主任姜學豪教授榮獲歷史學界全球最大規模獎項🎉
恭喜加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校臺灣研究中心主任—姜學豪教授，榮獲了素有歷史學界最高榮譽之稱的「丹·大衛獎」！姜教授不僅是今年全球 9 位得主之一，更是該獎項設立以來首位來自東亞的獲獎者。
姜教授同時也是教育部補助UCSB「臺灣研究講座計畫」的主持人。他是國際「華語語系研究（Sinophone Studies）」領域的開創性學者，該研究重新建構了臺灣、香港、新加坡、馬來西亞及亞美群體等區域的歷史與文化論述，打破傳統單一「華人/中華」框架的侷限，深刻捕捉了文化表達的複雜性與多元性。

教育部自 2004 年起便持續支持 UCSB 臺灣研究中心（CTS）。在姜學豪主任的帶領下，最新的五年期計畫（2024-2029）以「關係世界中的臺灣」為主題，致力於推動臺灣研究的跨學科發展，深化臺灣與全球的連結。中心持續開設臺灣文學、性別、視覺文化與新臺灣電影等多元豐富的跨領域課程，並積極拓展臺美間的學術訪問與學生交流，將臺灣的學術與文化能量推向國際舞臺。

🎉 Huge Congratulations to Prof. Howard Chiang, Director of the Center for Taiwan Studies at UCSB, on Winning the Dan David Prize! 🎉
We are thrilled to celebrate a monumental achievement! Professor Howard Chiang, Director of the Center for Taiwan Studies (CTS) at UC Santa Barbara, has been named a 2026 winner of the prestigious Dan David Prize—the largest history prize in the world! Notably, Director Chiang is one of the 9 global winners this year and the first-ever winner of this award from East Asia.
Director Chiang is also the Director of the “Taiwan Studies Project" at UCSB supported by the Taiwan Ministry of Education(MOE). He is a pioneer in the field of Sinophone studies, which reconceives regions such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Asian America, where the category of “Chinese” fails to capture the complexity and diversity of cultural expression.
🏫 About the Center for Taiwan Studies at UCSB
The MOE has proudly and continuously supported CTS at UCSB since 2004. Under Director Chiang's leadership, the latest five-year project (2024-2029) centers around the theme "Taiwan in a Relational World," aiming to promote interdisciplinary development in Taiwan studies and deepen Taiwan's connections with the global community. CTS continues to offer a vibrant range of interdisciplinary courses—including Taiwanese literature, gender studies, visual culture, and New Taiwanese Cinema—while actively expanding academic visits and student mobility between Taiwan and the U.S. to elevate Taiwan's academic and cultural energy onto the global stage.
