Currently comprised of 52 members of various engineering majors, Santa Clara Theta Tau is foremost a family of diverse engineering students seeking to improve their world and the world around them. National founded: October 15, 1904

Founded at the University of Minnesota in 1904, Theta Tau is the nation's oldest and foremost Fra

ternity for Engineers. With emphasis on quality and a strong fraternal bond, the fraternity has chapters only at ABET accredited schools. Theta Tau carefully follows a program in the selection and development of its members that stresses the importance of high professional ethics and exemplary practices. Within each chapter, the Fraternity stimulates professional activity and social compatibility; provides a framework for group participation in campus, community, engineering, and fraternity affairs; and promotes lasting friendships - a lifetime of brotherhood in an engineering environment. Through national conferences and conventions, there is an annual opportunity to associate with fraternity brothers (students and alumni) from chapters across the nation. We are always looking for motivated, ambitious, and energetic engineering students that are interested in building friendships, improving their professional lives, and becoming the strong foundation upon which the fraternity is built.

Our next Theta Tau class of 2022 spotlight is David Krakauer!!

David recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science & Engineering and will be working at Wise Systems while taking night graduate courses at Santa Clara University to complete a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering over the next year.

David’s favorite Theta Tau memories were rushing, pledging, and crossing his freshman year at SCU as well as later being a pledge instructor himself. He served as ProDev chair of Theta Tau his senior year, and worked as a Software Engineering intern at Persosa!

David’s final words of wisdom for us are “be open with others - you’ll find that they’ll also be open with you.”

Congratulations David!! We appreciate the time and work you’ve put into our chapter and are excited to see all that your future holds! 🥳
