Join us this Friday, October 16th for our Fall 2026 Star Party & Science Showcase!! Dave Margrave, RS-25 Engine Program chief engineer for L3Harris Technologies, will give a presentation on NASA’s Artemis II and the core stage rocket engine. The event includes high-powered telescopes to view the night sky, science updates from faculty and students, and hands-on demonstrations and activities. Food will be available for purchase. The free event is scheduled 6pm to 9:30 pm at the Canyon Country Campus in the Lower Plaza.

Registration is open for 370 short-term classes still available during the College of the Canyons fall 2026 semester.

With start dates scheduled throughout October and November, late-start classes will be offered at the college’s Valencia and Canyon Country campuses, as well as online, providing flexible options for students balancing work, family and other commitments.

In addition, the college’s School of Personal and Professional Learning (PPL) will offer 164 short-term, tuition-free classes throughout October and November. Open to community members of all ages and skill levels, PPL courses are designed to support lifelong learning and professional development. Offerings include Basic Self Defense Strategies, Watercolor for Older Adults, AI: Research and Study Tools, Relief & Monotype Printmaking.

Registration for short-term classes will remain open until courses are filled.

The Santa Clarita Job Fair returns to the Valencia campus on Friday, Oct. 23. Held in partnership with the City of Santa Clarita, SCV Economic Development Corp., and America’s Job Centers of California, the event will connect job seekers with local employers. Start your morning right and get your steps in by joining our free, public Garden Walk event on Friday, November 6th, from 9am to 11am, at the beautiful Canyon Country Campus.
