Alumni Association Election Results:

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Alumni Association elections!

A total of 87 ballots were cast—73 through the online form and 14 in person during the All Alumni Meeting at Homecoming in Annapolis on September 27.

Congratulations to our newly elected and returning Alumni Association leaders:

Additionally, the proposal to change the definition of “Alumni” in the Alumni Association Bylaws to align with the definition adopted in the College Polity by the Board of Visitors and Governors on June 14, 2025, was approved.

We look forward to the contributions of all our elected representatives and thank everyone who participated in the election!

For 40 years, from 1985 until her retirement in 2025, Ms. Pamela Kraus was a vital member of the St. John’s community. Over the course of her remarkable career, she served as a devoted tutor, editor of the St. John’s Review, Dean, and lecturer. During her time as Dean, she was deeply committed to preserving the essential elements of a St. John’s education, even amid challenging financial and governance circumstances.

Although Ms. Kraus could not be with us in person this past Sunday, the St. John’s College Alumni Association was proud to recognize her with the Honorary Alumni Award. Her four decades of service have left a lasting mark on the college and on the many students and colleagues who had the privilege of learning and working alongside her.

Her dedication to intellectual rigor, precision of expression, and high standards for both students and faculty will remain an enduring part of the St. John’s community.

If you were a Johnnie who attended the Annapolis campus at any point over the past three decades, you’ve probably experienced the dedication, professionalism, and kindness of Chief Michael Boston!

This past Sunday, the St. John’s College Alumni Association presented Chief Boston with the Honorary Alumni Award, recognizing his extraordinary 34 years of service to the college community.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Chief Boston joined the College’s Public Safety team in 1992 and steadily rose through the ranks—from Public Safety Officer to Lieutenant to Captain, and finally, Chief. Over the years, he has guided the campus through severe weather, countless major events, and all the everyday moments in between. Through it all, he has been a familiar and trusted presence on campus, known for his ability to correct students with patience and understanding.

As one colleague put it, Chief Boston is “an absolute model of how to walk the line between rule enforcement and approachability with grace.”

Join us in congratulating Chief Boston on this well-deserved honor, and in welcoming him to the ranks of St. John’s alumni as an honorary member!

It's Election Time - Early Voting Starts Today!

Please join us at our upcoming All-Alumni Meeting on September 27 (in person and virtual attendance details below). We will hear updates from the Alumni Association Board, and alumni will elect a Secretary, a Treasurer, seven At-Large Directors to the Alumni Association Board of Directors, and one alumni-elected representative to the College's Board of Visitors and Governors. Additionally, alumni will vote on a proposed amendment to the Alumni Association’s By-Laws.

The 2026 All-Alumni Meeting and Elections will be held at Homecoming on the Annapolis Campus.

Sunday, September 27, 2026
10-11:30 a.m. ET /9 - 10:30 a.m. CT/ 8 - 9:30 a.m. MT /7 - 8:30 a.m. PT.

This meeting is open to all alumni, students, faculty, and staff. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom link for the meeting is available at the link in the comments.

Early voting is now open via online ballot or mail-in ballot. Vote online today through the google form in the comments!

If you wish to receive a printable ballot, please send an email to [email protected].

Candidate bios and position descriptions, the proposed By-Laws Amendment, and ballots can be found online on the Alumni Association’s webpage.

Early voting ends on Thursday, September 24, 2026. All mail-in ballots must be received by 5 p.m. ET on that date. No ballots may be cast by proxy.

The last opportunity to vote will be in person during Homecoming in Annapolis at the annual All-Alumni Meeting.
