TONIGHT (May 6th) at 9:00 PM in the BBT, come see the second half of this year's New College New Scripts! There will be readings of No Strings Attached by Sam Sandford and Godsend by Dylan Prior.

No Strings Attached follows the events of the Snowden leaks and the one Maryland NSA analyst that breaks protocol to pursue a person of interest. Along the way, he and his friends learn some ugly truths, the real meaning of friendship, and the sheer extent of the apathy of the American electorate. (TW: Offstage gun violence, onstage violence, strong language, mention of racism and Islamophobia).

Godsend is about the life of the Greek God Zeus after being sent to modern day Nashville by the Titans. An excerpt from the script will be read for your enjoyment. (TW: Talk of Religion, Violence Mention, Alcohol).

Don't miss out! Come on over to the Black Box after Dance Collective and hear these fantastic works brought to the stage!

05/05/2017

Join us TONIGHT at 9:00 in the BBT for New College New Scripts! There will be a reading of Saving Solace by Aidan Judge and Drawing the Statue of Liberty by Dannie Pritchard.

Saving Solace follows the citizens of the last small town left, three hundred years after an apocalyptic war. (TW: Death, violence, weapons, (very) graphic injury, medication, obscenity, religion mention, and prejudice).

Drawing the Statue of Liberty is filled with surprises and spontaneity, with witty dialogue and insightful questions. (TW Talk of mental illness, death, mention of religion, & possibly expletives).

We hope to see you there, it's gonna be great!

09/26/2016

New College Windmill Theatre Company kicks off its 2016/17 season this weekend with John Lyly's Gallathea, directed by Monica Cross.

Gallathea, an early modern fairy tale, focuses on a small village that has angered the god of the sea, Neptune. As punishment, the village must offer their daughters to Neptune, but two fathers, thinking to out wit the gods, dress their daughters as boys to escape the punishment. These disguised girls meet and fall in love with each other's altered persona. Add a fight of divine proportions and three boys just trying to find a job, and soon everyone gets tangled up in one another's affairs.

The performance dates for Gallathea are Sept 29-Oct 2 (Thursday-Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm). The performances will be held in the Koski Plaza (the ACE courtyard). We plan to set up blankets and encourage people to picnic around the stage during the performance. We will also set up chairs for those that do not wish or cannot sit on the ground. The BBT will serve as a Rain Location (keep checking back here to learn of any changes due to weather.)

Since this event is outdoors, there is no reservation necessary. If you, however, need specific accommodations for seating, please email [email protected].

First Theater Event of the Year:

📣PLAY-IN-A-DAY!📣

If you are interested in being involved with theater this fall, now is your chance to jump right in before the semester is even underway.

We will be taking individual and group sign ups from now until August 17th at Midnight.

You have one day to produce a play from start to finish. Groups will assemble at the start of the event to receive the prompts. Each group then has the night to write their scripts. The next day everyone memorizes their parts, produces, rehearses the play, adds whatever technical elements they need, and assembles all of their props and costumes. Then, the each group performs their new play before a live audience exactly one day after receiving their prompts. It is a fun, fast-paced, collaborative way to get involved with theater.

Groups will receive their prompts at 7pm on Friday August 19th at the Black Box Theatre, and the final performance will start at 7pm on August 20th, same place!

All you need to do is email [email protected] letting us know that you want to participate. If you do not sign up as a group, we will be assembling you into teams and email out more detailed instructions and suggestions for the event.

Sign-ups will end at Midnight on August 17th to give everyone time to prepare. So make sure that you let us know ASAP if you want to participate.
