The Opportunity Program (OP) provides access to a high quality liberal arts education for talented and motivated students whose academic and financial circumstances would make them otherwise unable to attend our institution. OP consists of students from New York admitted through the state’s Higher Education Opportunity Program and students recruited through Skidmore’s Academic Opportunity Program who live outside of New York and/or have a family income that slightly exceeds HEOP guidelines.

We will learn about cookie decorating tools and decorate together step-by-step, so you would need to be able to attend the entire event from 6-7:30 PM. Seats are limited and it will be a first come, first served event!

Just a reminder that today, from 1:00 to 4:00, OP is holding walk-in hours to provide support for SEF applications and any career document needs. Adam will be in the OP back lounge all afternoon, so feel encouraged to stop by to ask any questions, big or small. He is happy to give feedback on SEF short answers, resumes, cover letters, or any other internship/professional materials.

Keep in mind that SEF applications are due Thursday, April 9th and that you must have your internship/summer experience in place before submitting the application.

Wonderful opportunity for OP scholars!

Hi everyone! My name is Yicel Rosario; I am a SUNY New Paltz EOP Alumna. I am very passionate about Opportunity Programs and carry so much pride from my own experiences. I am collaborating with OP to form a new group called “Honoring Our Multicultural Experiences.” Our first meeting will be Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 11 am to 12 pm in Ladd 106. We encourage you to stop by, come with an open mind, and bring your own ideas. This group is designed to celebrate and recognize different cultural backgrounds, identities, and life experiences that students bring to our campus. Through this group, I hope we can share our stories and learn from one another, and that everyone leaves feeling valued for who they are.
