🩺 Future healthcare heroes in the house!

Today, South University, Savannah welcomed 25 students from Woodville Tompkins High School for an inside look at our programs and our community. These students are part of the Health Sciences Exploring Program through the Coastal Georgia Council, Scouting America.

During their visit, they toured our laboratories and classrooms and met some of our faculty. The day wrapped up with a panel of our own and students, who shared their educational journeys and answered questions.

The questions covered a lot of ground: how long rotations last and what types there are, what social life on campus looks like, and how to apply for jobs after graduation. Our students loved sharing their experiences.

💙 Today, we celebrate an incredible milestone - 25 years of leadership, service, and dedication to South University from our Program Director, John Burns, MMSc, PA-C.

Over the past 25 years, John has served our program in nearly every capacity as faculty, Assistant Clinical Director, Academic Coordinator, Assistant Program Director, and Program Director. Through each role, his commitment to our students, faculty, staff, and profession has remained unwavering. 📖 🥼 🎓 🩺 👨‍⚕️

He has led our program through successful accreditation visits, championed continuous quality improvement and program growth, and mentored countless students, graduates, faculty, and staff along the way. His influence can be seen not only in the success of our program, but in the many people whose careers and lives are better because of his leadership, guidance, and support.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. John Burns on 25 remarkable years with South University! We are incredibly grateful for his leadership, service, and the legacy he continues to build within the South University, Savannah Physician Assistant Program.

💙🧡 Welcome back to campus, Lily!

For and Alumni Appreciation Month, we were thrilled to welcome Lily Paculis, PA Class of 2024, back to South University, Savannah! Lily met with our current PA students to share her journey from the classroom to clinical practice and answer their questions as a recent graduate.

Today, Lily is a full-time PA with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, where she's thriving and making a real difference.

While she was here, Lily toured our new PA lab, built where her old main classroom used to be, and got a look at the other campus improvements underway.

Thank you, Lily, for giving back to the next generation of PAs. We're so proud of you!

One LAST first day!

Our BSN Class of December 2026 is officially on the home stretch, and we couldn't be prouder!

From the first day of nursing school to the final semester, they've powered through the clinicals, late nights and tough exams, and they've had each other's backs the whole way. Now the finish line is in sight!

🐾 Ruff day? Not on our campus! 🐾

In honor of PA Week starting tomorrow, Renegade Paws Rescue brought 4 adorable pups to the breezeway to help our hardworking PA students (and staff!) de-stress. For two hours, their amazing volunteers made sure everyone walking by got some well-deserved puppy love.

Huge thank you to Renegade Paws Rescue for making our week a little brighter and a lot fluffier!

A new week is a reminder of the strength we carry, and the strength we can give to others.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re honoring those who have faced breast cancer, remembering those we’ve lost, celebrating survivors, and standing alongside the patients, families, caregivers, researchers, and healthcare professionals working every day to make a difference. 💗

Let this week’s reminder be simple: Keep going. Keep believing. Keep supporting one another.

Whether it’s encouraging someone through a difficult day, making time for your health, or simply reminding someone that they’re not alone, small acts of support can make a meaningful impact.
