We’re only two weeks into our Bridge to Research in Marine Sciences program, and things are already heating up 🔥🔥🔥!!!

Our interns have had an unforgettable week — from visiting the aquarium to learn more about marine life, to touring an oyster farm, connecting with their mentors, and gaining valuable knowledge and hands-on experience along the way.

This program is about so much more than research — it’s an EXPERIENCE. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things our interns accomplish throughout the summer!

As many of you may know, Coast Camp starts NEXT WEEK, and we are so EXCITED!!!!!

For almost 20 years, Coast Camp has provided campers with both a fun and educational experience. The program gives students the opportunity to learn more about coastal ecosystems and marine environments while also creating a space for them to connect, grow, and build lasting memories together.

We can’t wait to welcome our campers next week and give them an experience of a LIFETIME!!!

We would also like to give a special thank you to our sponsors for helping make this amazing experience possible!

Savannah State University Dolphin Sciences (SSUDS) lab is going to have to come up with a new name. Manatees are now also keeping them busy. 12 manatees, including a calf, got stuck behind a seawall at a local marina. SSUDS assessed and documented the situation as part of the Marine Mammal Stranding Network. The manatees cleverly covered themselves in mud and waited out the low tide until water came back over the seawall and they could make their escape. Pictures by Tara Cox, Michelle Lee Noyce, and Leslie Garcia.
