A royal hello from your newly crowned Mister and Miss Savannah State University! 👑💙🧡

Tonight, another chapter was added to a tradition generations of Tigers have celebrated.

For decades, Savannah State's campus royalty has represented more than crowns and titles. It's a tradition woven into our university's history, celebrating student leadership, service and the pride of representing Tiger Nation.

From the crowns worn before them to the memories they'll make during their reign, our newest Mister and Miss carry that legacy forward.

And with their first royal wave tonight, a new generation takes its place in Savannah State's story. 🐅

Not too long ago, they were students at Savannah State, figuring out their next steps and dreaming about what came after graduation.

This morning, those same Tigers returned for our HBCU Career Connections Panel, sharing the lessons they've learned, the paths they've taken and the advice they wish they'd heard along the way.

There's something pretty special about seeing where a Savannah State education can take you, especially when the people showing you the way once sat right where you are.

To our alumni, thank you for coming home and making time for the Tigers following in your footsteps! 🐅

Yesterday, our student entrepreneurs set up shop for Black Wall Street, sharing the businesses they've been building with their fellow Tigers!

Behind every table was a student with an idea, a little hustle and something they're proud to call their own.

And what better place to show it off than right here at Savannah State, surrounded by a community ready to cheer them on?

Keep building, Tigers. We're rooting for you!

Every year, downtown Savannah comes alive as generations of Tigers gather for one of our most beloved Homecoming traditions!

This year, we're proud to welcome Elaine Shavers Campbell as our 2026 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal! A proud SSU alumna, longtime university leader and dedicated Savannah community advocate, Ms. Campbell has spent nearly three decades serving the university and helping shape its future.

And joining us to judge this year's parade are four familiar faces from across our community!

💙 Jesse Dillon – COO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority and champion for local business and community growth.

🧡 Patricia “Trish” Harris ’03 – Proud SSU alumna and higher education leader dedicated to student success.

💙 Somi Benson-Jaja – Savannah entrepreneur, photographer and publisher with a passion for community service.

🧡 State Senator Derek Mallow – SSU alumnus and Savannah native, public servant, community leader, and longtime advocate for youth and families.

From our Grand Marshal to our parade judges, we're celebrating the people who make Savannah State and our community so special.

This afternoon, Savannah State celebrated the ribbon cutting of the Fred and Mattie Jackson Cognitive Research Laboratory, a resource opening new doors for hands-on student research.

Thanks to the generosity of the Jackson family, our College of Business Administration students will have exciting new opportunities to explore marketing, consumer behavior and market research using specialized technology.

Guests got a firsthand look at that potential through live demonstrations showcasing the lab's capabilities!

A new lab today. Endless possibilities for our students tomorrow!

THAT'S HOW YOU KICK OFF HOMECOMING!

Last night, Tiger Nation showed up, showed out and gave us a pep rally to remember!

Our cheerleaders, dance crews, SOLs and Powerhouse of the South brought the house down, DJ Miami kept the crowd moving, and Noodah05 took the excitement to another level.

From the first performance to the final moments, the energy was unmistakably SAVANNAH STATE.

And we're only getting started. Welcome to The S.H.O.W.!
