SEED at Lehigh Carbon Community College SEED provides comprehensive "direct" services for students with disabilities interested in college.

The Success, Engagement, Education, Determination [SEED] program is a flexible and fully integrated program now available at Lehigh Carbon Community College for persons, 18 years of age or older, with disabilities. It is in cooperation through the Pennsylvania Developmental Disability Council grant and in partnership with Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living, providing comprehensive follow

along services for students interested in either an academic or career track program. The program provides the soft and/or technical skills, mentoring, socialization, and independent living skills needed for postsecondary/vocational success. SEED: Plants the seed of success for students through college and community engagement in creating an inclusive culture, fostering growth. The SEED program provides comprehensive “intrusive” services for students with disabilities interested in a college experience to master skills in transition, academic, and/or career areas. Instruction is provided in independent living, socialization, and soft skills. Through partnerships with Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living, Lehigh Carbon School Systems, and LCCC faculty/staff; mentoring, coaching, work experiences, education, and training are provided to meet their adult related goals and maximize their employment potential.

Ready to Grow?:

Lehigh Carbon Community College is now accepting applications for the July 2026 SEED cohort! SEED stands for Success, Engagement, Education, and Determination. This program is specifically designed for students with disabilities who are ready to transition into college life with a high level of independence.

Why apply early?

Early bird gets the interview: We review applications as they come in. The sooner you submit, the sooner we can schedule your personal interview.

Beat the waitlist: Once our spots are filled, remaining qualified applicants will be placed on a waitlist. Don't let your spot slip away!

Kickstart your summer: Selected students participate in our mandatory Summer Bridge program this July at the Schnecksville campus.
