We are proud to congratulate eight new members who successfully completed all of the degree work. It was an honor to witness their dedication as they learned the traditions, lessons, signs, and symbols of our Order.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Kenny Spence for helping teach the class and sharing his knowledge of the signs, symbols, and lessons of Odd Fellowship. We also want to recognize John Lizenby for taking care of the meal and making sure everyone was well fed throughout the day.

Special appreciation goes to Randal Applegate and Mike Davisson, who handled the clerical responsibilities, issued the dues cards, and presented each new member with their Three Links pin. The hard work of John, Randal, and Mike was instrumental in preparing for and ensuring the success of this Degree Day.

We also extend our thanks to our own Grand Warden, Ken King, who worked behind the scenes managing the technical aspects of the degree work and helping everything run smoothly from start to finish.

Pictured are the eight new members Jeff Fortner, Trent Salyers, Greysen King, Kevin Keith, Caitlin Keith, William Piper, Matt Shrader, and Robert Hendrix who completed all of the degree work, along with many of our fellow lodge members (Joe Wooten-Noble Grand, Rick Zollman-Vice Grand, Kenny Spence-Right Supporter, Johnny Fields-Warden, Kevin Pruett-Inside Guardian, and Patrick Fields who were in attendance to support and celebrate this important milestone.

A special congratulations goes to Caitlin Keith on making history as the first woman ever to be voted into membership and complete the degree work at Scottsburg Lodge #555. This is a monumental milestone in the history of our lodge and a moment that will be remembered for years to come. We are proud to welcome Caitlyn into our Odd Fellow family and congratulate her on this historic achievement.

Congratulations to our newest brothers and Sister! We look forward to watching each of you continue your journey in Odd Fellowship as we live by the principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth.

🇺🇸 Celebrating 250 Years of America 🇺🇸

Today, the members of Scottsburg Lodge #555, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, proudly celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United States of America.

For generations, our Lodge has been committed to the timeless principles of Friendship, Love, and Truth, serving our neighbors and strengthening the communities we call home. As we honor this historic anniversary, we also celebrate the hardworking people of Southern Indiana whose dedication, faith, and community spirit have helped make our region a wonderful place to live.

Scottsburg Lodge #555 is proud to serve and support families throughout Scott County, Crothersville and Jackson County, Jeffersonville and Clark County, New Albany and Floyd County, and the surrounding communities. Whether in our small towns, local churches, schools, farms, or neighborhoods, we believe the American spirit is strongest when neighbors come together to help one another.

As fireworks fill the skies over Southern Indiana, let us remember the generations who sacrificed to preserve our freedoms and those who continue to build stronger communities through service, kindness, and compassion.

May God continue to bless our nation, our state, and the people of Southern Indiana.

🤝🏽 Scottsburg Lodge #555, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, welcomes Mayberry back to Scott County! 🤝🏽

From June 12-14, 2026, the streets of Scottsburg will once again be filled with the friendship, fellowship, and small-town values that made Mayberry famous during Mayberry Comes to Scottsburg. The three-day festival features celebrity guests, tribute artists, music, parades, meet-and-greets, and family-friendly entertainment in downtown Scottsburg.

As Odd Fellows, we can’t help but think of the classic Andy Griffith Show episode “The Lodge” (Season 7, Episode 2). In that episode, Andy Taylor sponsors Howard Sprague for membership in Mayberry’s men’s lodge, where fellowship, friendship, and belonging become central themes. Howard’s desire to be accepted and become part of something bigger than himself mirrors the same principles that have guided Odd Fellowship for generations.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows was founded on the ideals of Friendship, Love, and Truth. Like the lodge portrayed in Mayberry, our organization brings neighbors together, encourages service to others, and builds lifelong bonds through fellowship and community involvement.

When Mayberry comes to Scottsburg, it reminds us that strong communities are built when people care for one another, lend a helping hand, and gather as friends—not unlike the values that have sustained Scottsburg Lodge #555 for well over a century.

We invite everyone to visit Mayberry Comes to Scottsburg and experience the spirit of small-town America that continues to thrive right here in Scott County.
