Evangelina Paisi ‘26 on her study abroad student at Loyola University Chicago John Felice Rome Center in Spring 2025: “Studying abroad in Rome was an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life. Living in a new country pushed me to become more independent
than ever before. I learned to navigate daily life on
my own by managing transportation, communicating in another language, and adjusting to unfamiliar routines. At the same time, I was fortunate to meet people who made the transition feel less overwhelming. The friendships I formed and the support I found within my classes gave me a sense of belonging in a place that
initially felt unfamiliar. Balancing independence
with connection allowed me to grow not only in
confidence, but also in my understanding of the
value of community.”
