The Marywood University School of Social Work had a wonderful time participating in Outreach’s 2026 Children’s Career Fair, “Professions for Parents, Too!” The event brought children and families together to learn about a variety of careers and connect with professionals from across the community.

At the School of Social Work table, children had the opportunity to learn more about the social work profession and explore the many ways social workers help individuals, families, schools, and communities. Through interactive activities, children were encouraged to think about how they can be helpers too.

Representing Marywood at the event were Kaitlin Anderle, Dr. Yerodin Lucas, and graduate assistant and MSW student Allyson Carpenter. Marywood MSW graduate Daysi Carreto also stopped by to join the table and support the School of Social Work.

Another special highlight was seeing two Marywood BSW graduates, Olivia Fryer and Nicole Piccoletti, now students in the MSW program, working the event at Outreach. We didn’t get a picture, but our BSW student who just began her employment-based field placement with Outreach, Jasmine Loury, was doing face painting! It was wonderful to see our students and alumni continuing their professional journeys while supporting such a meaningful community event.

Thank you to Outreach Center for Community Resources for hosting such a fun and engaging day for children and families. The School of Social Work was grateful to be part of it and to share more about the impact of social work. 💚💛

On Friday, May 15th, Marywood University proudly celebrated the School of Social Work Hooding Ceremony, honoring our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) graduates from the Class of 2026.

This special ceremony recognized the dedication, resilience, compassion, and commitment our students have demonstrated throughout their academic journeys. Our graduates leave Marywood prepared to advocate, lead, support individuals and communities, and create meaningful change in the world around them.

To our BSW and MSW graduates: congratulations on this incredible accomplishment. We are so proud of all you have achieved and cannot wait to see the impact you will make within the social work profession and beyond.

Dr. Nicole Zmuda, Marywood MSW alumni and Board of Directors Member of NEPA Pride, recently joined our Saturday Social Policy Advocacy class to share insights on policy advocacy from an organizational/mezzo perspective.

Throughout the semester, students explored and actively engaged in policy advocacy across the micro, mezzo, and macro levels, bringing classroom concepts to life in meaningful ways. ✨📢📝

The Lehigh Valley MSW Program Coordinator, Sue Lettera, is pictured with members of the Steering Committee for the Lehigh Valley Health and Human Services Job Fair.

In addition to Sue, members of the Committee include people from Magellan Behavioral Health, Lehigh and Northampton County DHS administrators, Penn State Lehigh Valley and Community Agency representatives.

This annual event was launched 4 years ago as a way to assist Lehigh Valley community agencies recruit needed staff, as well as offer opportunities for local college students to explore employment opportunities throughout the Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe and Bucks County area in the health and human services sector. 💼🎓🌱

📍This year's event was held at the Palmer Park Mall in Easton and hosted over 150 job seekers! ✨👏
